Should I move my 12 year old across the country with his mom or keep him here in BC?

OK,my ex-wife is from Ottawa and we live in suburban vancouver.She is relocating back to Ottawa in july(where her family lives,including a son she has from a previous marraige).We are currently in the burbs of vancouver,and my son has been hanging out with the same group of kids almost his whole life up to this point.Is it wrong to have to make him adjust to a whole new set of kids,which can be horrifying at that age,especially when he's so established where he is,or will the move be all the better in the long run for him? I know we have better weather,but Ottawa has all the culture,not to mention its proximity to montreal and T.O.what should i do?move him to ottawa with his mom or stay here in the lower mainland? i could always move there as well,but will i like it?wtf do i do??????? i just want whats right for my son,thanks folks
