Can a vaccine cause you to have symptoms of the disease it protects you from?

I'm currently taking Vivotif, an oral typhoid vaccine, for a mission trip to Ecuador. I have taken three of the four capsules and have found that my side effects closely mirror those of typhoid (loss of appetite, fatigue, stomach pain, headache). I originally attributed these symptoms to my body fighting the vaccine, but as I read more about typhoid, the more I grew curious as to whether this is a common occurrence. I am normally a very healthy person, this is not a case of hypochondria.
