Need crafty ideas for mirror!!!?

Have a huge framed mirror but don't like the frame, dark and ugly. Don't want to reframe it, but other than just painting it, any suggestions how to spruce it up. It's just a flat piece of wood, 3" wide, so can glue to it. Going to be in entrance of home so would like it to be eye catching when guests enter. Know there are crafty people out there, so please help! All ideas appreciated!
