If Someone Detests licorice, is it Socially Proper after being offered, to reply, "I'll SKIP the ROPE"?

Anyone who says they detest licorice should be promptly flogged with licorice whips and pelted with licorice nibs.... after which they should be doused in ouzo and sambuca.
